   So, this debacle all started when I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up the next morning realizing I didn’t make it to the bed. Now, usually if I fall asleep on the couch, the remote is laying next to me; but, this time it wasn’t. I search high and low, under the couch, between the cushions but I couldn’t seem to locate it. Now, my heart rate started to rise and I started to panic. Just when I was about to give up, I looked to my left. Lo and behold the remote presented itself to me…in my full glass of water 3 feet away on the coffee table. Now basketball was never my sport but my rage was assuaged only by the disbelief that some how I fired up a Christian Laettner buzzer beater in my sleep resulting in a water logged remote incapable of performing any of its intended functions besides turning up the volume. Pulling the product number off my sunken remote, I quickly did a search on Amazon to see if I could find a replacement. I found this one and promptly ordered it because hey…there is no way I’m going to be able to watch the new Game of Thrones on Sunday with out the button allowing me to get to HBO Go. Luckily, the remote arrived in the standard two days allowing me to conduct my weekly viewing of the beloved show. Two thumbs up. This is an exact match for what came with my Samsung smart tv.

   Bought this remote for back-up, should the one that came with the television set malfunction after a period of time. Gave it a try and worked quite well, took out batteries and place in a drawer for storage.

   Remote won’t operate a Samsung DVD player, June 27, 2015

   Came with a Samsung Smart TV, It works the TV OK. I bought a Samsung BluRay DVD Player to go along with my new TV. Went through the Universal Remote setup procedure, figuring that a nw Samsung Smart TV should do just fine with a new Samsung Blu-Ray player. The TV has the IR Remote setup extension, BTW. Ran the setup numerous times, following the instructions to the letter. Only function it will perform is turning the Blu Ray off/on, and then not with the system on/off button. The TV remote recognized the Samsung BluRay player, and the connection OK, etc. It just does not work the DVD player.

   I have to stick with two remotes. I am very disappointed.
