   This is an EXACT duplicate of the original that came with my DVD-V97 player, and works OK – the same as when my original remote was new. But, I give it only three stars because the button design itself is weak. The button action tends to wear out. With frequent use, the buttons stop functioning because they fail to make electrical contact. You have to press harder and harder until they don’t work at all. The buttons press on a flimsy thin film board, so inside, there are no contacts you can clean or adjust to make the buttons work again. Perhaps a replacement that is EQUIVALENT in function rather than this exact OEM would be more robust and a better choice, but I was not willing to fiddle with that option. I just consider this remote a throw away part for an otherwise really nice DVD/VHS player.

   Bought this for my husband. He is enjoying it. No longer has to make that “long walk” to the VCR/DVD player to turn on or off.
